owchie ear

My little one woke up this morning with a smile on his face as usual. But the first words out of his mouth were something no mama wants to hear, "owchie ear mama". he brings his hand up and points to his left ear.

(insert mamas tears here)

I called the advice nurse, knowing they would just bring us into the doctors office to check his ears anyway. I answered a few questions for her, then was asked to press on his ear and tell her his responce. "well, im getting mad eyebrows and a strange "what are you doing mama?!" look."  I wasnt quite sure what we were looking for here. In all his ear infections, we have never had to do "ear pressing" at home.

Her responce. "just come in at 4:50"

So, with his history of ear infections, off to the DR we went. He was happy all day, ate like normal and no temperature to be seen. But, as soon as our amazing Dr. H looked in his ear, she immediatly know. "Your son is right, one owchie left ear infection".  She then ooo'ed and awwww'ed over him, saying he was just such an easy going boy!

Thank goodness he can speak now or we never would have known! My poor son & his high pain tolarance and no fever ear infection... no more please!

So, 10 days of antibiotics & we will hope for no more after that! We have speech starting on friday, so i would hate for more ear infections to get in the way of fast progress. :)

Here's a photo of him playing at the DR's like normal !
