It is wonderful to be home, but i had a special experience of being able to facilitate an adoption in Hawaii over the past week. It was immensely touching to watch the birth family and adoptive family come so close, and truly establish a bond that will last a lifetime. What a magnificent start to their open adoption!
I wish that Wy was able to come with me, but i truly worked each day from 7am to around 11pm at night, which would have left little time for fun! I am probably the only woman who has ever been to this tropical paradise and only saw her hotel, airport, the army base and kinkos! But it is all beyond worth it to see the joy for the adoptive family. I did get to spend a quick few minutes at the Dole Pineapple plantation, and taste their YUMMY pineapple whip ice cream. This was IDEAL for me, as pineapple and fruit has been one of my only cravings through the pregnancy (besides HOT SPICY wings!).
I did get to spend a quick 5 minutes at the beach at the north shore to relax and sit in the sand. I came home with only a hand count of photos, but thought i would share this one!
As amazing as the sun, pineapple and north beach were, I still hands down believe that Isla Mujeres in Mexico will forever be my paradise, as nothing ever seems to compare! Speaking of Isla Mujeres, I am so THANKFUL that the Ushers are safe from the nextdoor fire in Isla, and glad their home did not suffer any large devastation. What a blessing that they were both there at this time! (http://casadelaspalmas.net/home4.html)
