Wyatt v.s. Mancake

So after many months of Wy’s begging and persuasive reasoning, We headed off to Stepping Stone Café for our first breakfast meal of 2010.

You may have heard of Stepping Stone Café (http://steppingstonecafe.com/) from Adam’s adventures to Portland on the travel channel’s Man v.s. Food. It is at the NW Portland café that Adam got a preview of Portland’s larges breakfast dish “The Man Cake”. Appropriately named, as only a true (and large!) man could finish this pancake that hangs over all edges of the plate it is served upon. Stepping Stone so politely welcomes you with their slogan “You eat here because we let you!”. The famous quote is a true insight to this corkiest of cafés, as everything to the wall décor and dining customers are anything but, well, typical. But that’s what makes this place so excitingly eccentric!

Wy decided to take the “Man Test” and attempt to finish the famous mancake challenge. With a Fork in his right hand and syrup in the other, he tackled his mancakes the second the hippie waiter put them before his eyes. They actually had a fluffy and sweet taste, which is ideal since you’re eating a whole gallon of batter! Starting at a quick speed,

Wyatt quickly discovered that the food at stepping stone café was large obstacle to overcome, as he only conquered half his order.

So to end in true travel channel style: In the case of Wyatt (Man) vs Food, MANCAKES WON!
