All has been going astonishingly smooth so far with Baby Wayde, as we truly feel blessed to have such an easy pregnancy at this point. No sickness, no nausea & no pain. What a gift, as I truly feel 110%, just a little big bigger in the belly than normal!
As we are called back to the office, the nurse check’s my weight (which I think is UNFAIR due to it being the first Monday after Christmas!! Everyone knows what all those yummy christmas treats and dinners do to the scale!! :) ), and also my blood pressure, heart rate and that I am taking all prenatal vitamins/DHA supplements and feeling well. All looks great, as I am right on track to gain 15-25 pounds for pregnancy and my blood pressure is staying very low. I truly think I should just stay quiet when I hear all the horror stories and hardship from other woman, as this is truly great fortune. Our doctor said that all looks great, and that Wayde’s heart beat is right in the 140bpm range. He has been around 150bpm in the past, but this is still well within the normal scale. Even though everyone keeps saying that I look small for being 6 months pregnant & most people don’t even notice, Wayde actually measured larger than average for 24 weeks. It does not look like we will have a small baby on our hands, but rather a healthy and heavy little boy. Everyone better start their arm work outs now, in preparation for all his love, holding and hugs.
Starting here in a few weeks, We do fetal kick counts, which is to make sure that Wayde is moving regularly each day. Our DR stated that this is typically begun around 28 weeks, since many women do not feel constant moving quite yet. I think Wayde must be much bigger than we think, because i feel him constantly, as I love all his kicks and turns each hour. He is going to be a mover, so it’s a good thing Wy and I stay active!
The DR went over pre-term delivery during the visit, but hopefully that is information we will not have to use! We will have to start taking guessing on delivery dates, but I’m going for right around the due date, maybe even a little early with him being a little stronger & larger. April 12th maybe, but who knows! He will come in the perfect time and when he is ready.
Next appointment at Kaiser is January 25th in the morning, which is also the day that we start out birth preparation classes. We will have to complete the glucose and blood test at that visit, for routine diabetes and anemia checks. Should be a long visit, since you have to drink sugar substance then stay for an hour before blood is drawn.
What im truly excited for is our 3d/4d ultrasound photos & video on January 22nd! If you would like to go to the website to see what we will be experiencing, please check out: http://www.portlandultrasound.com/. Click the photos and video tab to see samples! The photos are unbelievable, as I cannot wait for Wyatt to see his son in 3D! We will share the video and photos with everyone!
We are so blessed in our lives & thankful for another great DR visit!
